Its
story is that of the epic battle. Mankind versus machine inside a race for
dominance. Just one can win.
In
exercise, thankfully, it’s much, a lot more adorable. A four-wheeled robot that
looks remarkably as an RC car crossbred having a shoebox, programmed to provide
athletes something to competition against. A sort of free-roaming robotic
rabbit for their inner-greyhound.
BeatBot
was made for Puma by the T. Walter Thompson ad agency - and a lot of MIT
engineers. The sporty little automatic robot has nine built-in infrared sensors
made to follow the lines of the race track as it zips along in a pre-determined
pace.
The ‘bot is effective at hitting Usain Bolt amounts of speed, but runners can slow it down using a mobile app in hopes of actually using a chance against the small box, which monitors the trend of its wheels to determine how fast it’s heading. The BeatBot also sports activities front- and rear-facing GoPro digital cameras and LED lights upon its tail for simpler viewing after it leaves a runner within the dust.
For now, the shoe
company is just making the BeatBot open to its own athletes (such since the
aforementioned Bolt), but there are programs to introduce it to numerous
athletic programs later this season.
